Musical Whiplash

As I am putting towels away in the hallway,
strains of the Beatles come from Chris's room.

My kid has such cool taste in music, I think to myself.

Just as I am breaking into a lusty chorus of Day Tripper,
the song abruptly stops.

Mere seconds later, I hear the Brady Bunch singing
It's A Sunshine Day.

Visibly flinching, I retreat to my room.

In the time I have taken to type this,
he has switched again
and is now singing along to Hey Jude.

I am almost afraid to find out what comes next!

Will you think less of me if I tell you that just last night my sisters and I were exchanging Brady trivia via e-mail and Sunshine Day was one of the answers and then I went online to see if I could buy the CD?

Hey Leeann,
At least it's better than the things you and Richard used to listen to. Remember Prince? UGH. That's enough to make me run the other way! That was only one example..You and Richard listened to good music too...Although I might question Richard's selection of KISS..That child went from Beethoven to KISS!! Guess it's good to have lots of different options..But sometimes you wonder. Then they all grow up to be great people and you wonder why you worried. Being a parent is not for the faint of heart, is it? Just enjoy it.
Love,
MOM
