TV Turn Off Week

A couple of weeks ago,
we participated in the annual TV Turn Off week.

I had the boys do it but allowed Kate to not participate.

Trey made signs to put on the TV to help us remember not to flop down
and pull out the remote.

Here is one particularly nifty sign, that tells us all we need to know:

Let's take a closer look, shall we?

In this part of the sign, it is made VERY! CLEAR! what you may NOT DO:

NO TV!
NO DS!
NO SCREEN!

HEY MORON! THAT MEANS YOU!!

In the next picture,
we see something that takes us back to the Public-Service commercials
of our youth.
Remember the good old days?
This is an egg.
This is a skillet.
This is your brain on drugs.
(Whaaaa? What were they SMOKING??)

Trey took this a step further for us,
helpfully pointing out that your brain on TV is vacuous
while your brain on TOYS is full of all kinds of healthy neurons and pathways.
(Hey Hasbro, CALL ME.)

We then learn, with our little brain-shrunken-tv-brains,
that we can do things like
BOOKS!
GAMES!
LEGOS!
and, of course, TOYS!

Should this somehow fail to resonate with you,
Trey kindly posted my well-worn but seldom consulted list
of "Things You Can Do."

You're WELCOME.

Gotta love their interpretations. So was the week a success?

ha I just noticed . I've seen your list before but it just dawned on me it wouldn't work in my house, well, at least would need editing. Every day Clarissa would just go straight to #12.
We'd all be fat and her room would never get cleaned :)))))

I love your list of things you can do. We didn't do no screen week because... umm... hockey play-offs.. and that small brain problem Trey illustrated so well..
