There are some things in life that I am just PASSIONATE about.
Besides the immediate obvious things:
my husband, my children, my extended family and friends,
I am passionate about my children's LIVES.
Their lives, their academic growth, their POTENTIAL.
One of the very best ways I can support that is to support their school.
There are lots of ways I support my kids schools:
I get involved through volunteering my time:
(as in, WAAAAY involved. As in, a dessert party
for over 300 people next week.
I wouldn't have gotten that involved had a known the number!)
I get involved by showing my support
for the teachers and the administration.
I get involved by fundraising and giving money.
Ah, fundraising.
We all hate that word, don't we?
I mean, large buckets of frozen cookie dough
and reams of gift wrap, year after year.
Yeah, I know.
BUT.... What if I told you that you could fundraise for the school
with no effort,
in your jammies,
doing what you usually do?
WOULD YOU FEEL THE PASSION THEN??
Through Rocketxl, I found that Box Tops for Education
has an online marketplace.
What does this mean for you?
It means that you do your regular online shopping
that you were going to do anyway
(Yes, you were too, don't even TRY to deny it!)
and your child's school GETS A PERCENTAGE OF THE MONEY.
You don't pay more, it just happens!
For example, I spent 60$ at JC Penney.
I bought three reversible cotton bathmats on clearance
for the master bathroom
(and I kid you not, I have been needing these for TWO YEARS
but I wanted all cotton and reversible and DANG those are hard to find
at a good price!)
and a meat thermometer (mine broke on Thanksgiving. Good timing.)
When I made those greedy little purchases,
my kids' elementary school got 3% of the money I spent.
Really, how awesome is that?
GIFT FOR MYSELF= BENEFITS MY KIDS SCHOOL!!
I urge you to check it out.
There are stores there for every thing you could want to buy.
It takes you to the store's regular site
and you can still take advantage of the promos, free shipping etc
that the store is offering.
Generosity: It does a body good!
a sampling of stores:
Kohl's, Best Buy, Barnes and Noble, Land's End, Limited Too, Lillian Vernon AND MORE!

Hmm, this post did not turn out the way I thought it would from the title. LOL!!!
Unfortunately, I don't do any shopping online, but what a great idea!
This is a great idea. I'm going to mention it in next month's school newsletter.
Hey, that was false advertising! You lured me here with promises of passion and then I got fundraising! LOL!
I had no idea! I am not a door to door type of person, so this is great! Thanks for sharing it.

This is definitely news you can use. Nice find. You should let your local TVs know. It would be a great story for them – and they might feature you!
