Rob and Chris were driving home from basketball practice tonight.
As they were driving along listening to the radio,
a Prince song comes on.
"Who is this?" asked Chris after a bit. "I like it!"
"It's Prince" said Rob. "He had some really good songs."
"The only thing I don't get" said Chris, perplexed, "is why the thugs were crying."

So our sweet Sophie has been with us for almost two weeks
and she is SUCH a lovely dog.
I'm not sure I could have asked for better!
She is sweet, house trained, crate trained and seems to be smart.
She is already braver and is learning the rules of the house.
Gracie is just starting to realize that perhaps *this* dog is not the same
as others who pass through our house and then go away.
She is being very tolerant but will absolutely SHOVE Sophie out of the way
if we are loving on her.
It's fun to watch them figure out who is in charge and what the new lay of the land will be.

It is beginning to look like distinct possibility that my kids may actually
GO TO SCHOOL ALL WEEK this week.
I am giddy at the prospect!
----------------------------
A couple of people have recently commented that I haven't posted menu plans in a while.
This is true!
Here's some of what we have eaten lately:
Last week:
Chicken and dumplings, with corn and edamame
Tortellini alla panna with pancetta and early peas
This week:
Angel hair pasta with turkey meatballs and homemade applesauce
Marinated salmon, rice pilaf and salad
Tomorrow: Vegetable stew with leftover ribs and pot roast, corn bread
Thursday: Home made tomato soup and grilled cheese sandwiches.

Such a cute puppy. I didn't know you got another dog. I think we're going to get a full week of school in too. Yahoooo!!!!
Aww.. beautiful doggy pictures! My Gracie still pushes George out of the way when she thinks he is getting more attention than her.. maybe it's a Gracie thing?
