Out of the Mouths of Babes/ MPM

I have a funny to share,
but first some business..

I have gotten two "spam" comments on an old post.
These are written in a foreign language but from the translation I got,
they have no reason being on this blog.
So, for the time being,
I have enacted comment moderation on any blog entry older than two days.
Hopefully, that will take care of the problem.
If not, however, I will have to moderate all comments until these losers
choose another blog to spam.

I'll keep you posted on that. :-)

------------

We were having, at the request of my middle child,
a "reading dinner."
He was very excited to read a new book I had brought home for him
from the library.
Trey was also reading, one of the books from the series
"You Wouldn't Want to Be..."
In this case, the book was called "You Wouldn't Want to be a Victorian Servant."

Trey looks up and calls my name, aghast:
"Hey MOM! You would NOT want to live in Victorian times!
You would have to do the dishes after EVERY MEAL!!"

Um, yeah.
So I guess I am forced to acknowledge that housekeeping
is NOT super high on my priority list!

---------------

I hope you all had a good Thanksgiving week.
We had lots of fun seeing Rob's family and listening to the cousins
all running around, laughing and having fun.
To me, that is what Thanksgiving is all about!

Thanksgiving is one of those sneaky holidays.
As a kid, I just didn't GET Thanksgiving.
There was no passel of presents,
no basket of trinkets or pumpkin of candy.
It was just all day cooking, cooking, cooking and then a meal.
Big whoop.

Now, as an adult, it has become one of my most favorite holidays.
Thanksgiving is about what REALLY matters in life-
family, spending time together and thankfulness for all you have been given.
And tonight, I was very thankful to still be enjoying Thanksgiving leftovers!

-----------------

Here is our menu plan for the week,
subject to change as I view others' yummy menus:

Monday: whole wheat pasta and homemade meat sauce
Tuesday: mushroom turkey tetrazzini, peas, garlic bread
Wednesday: Hobo dinners, fresh green beans
Thursday: leftovers
Friday: Artichoke pasta, fruit
Saturday: Tacos and taco salad
Sunday: we'll see!

So, two new recipes to try this week.
I'll let you know how they are next week!
For more great menu ideas,

Glad your Thanksgiving was great. I'm with you - didn't get it when I was little but now it is one of my favorite holidays.

I've had the same problem with comments on old posts and have had comment moderation in place for about six months. It hasn't stopped the comments on old posts but I haven't seen any on new posts.
