Thank You and Singing Stars

First and foremost,
a heartfelt THANK YOU
to all who greeted my Dad in my last entry,
who wished him well
and sent good thoughts and prayers.

He reads this blog and I know it meant a great deal to him.

He wants me to tell all of you that yes indeed,
he DOES look like Terry Bradshaw
and that people will stop him and INSIST that he is Terry Bradshaw.

Now I can hardly wait til old Terry starts doing Viagra commercials.
Won't THAT be fun for my dad!!

Chris and Kate recently performed in our town's
version of American Idol.
It is called "Teen Idol" and is open to middle and high school students.

Both Kate and Chris decided to try out at the last minute
and chose an a capella piece each two days before the auditions.

Kate sang On My Father's Wings from Quest for Camelot
and Chris sang "Fingerprints of God" by Steven Curtis Chapman.

They both did very well and I was so proud of them.
It is not easy to get in front of people and sing,
especially a capella!

Chris won a place in the Finals, which means he was one of ten chosen
out of 37 contenders!
The next day he went and sang his song, again a capella, at our Town's Center for the Arts.
I was so impressed with his calm and confidence.
He did not win, but in my eyes he was surely a winner!

A small bit of summer photography from the MidAtlantic
as I sign off...
Please keep those thoughts, wishes and prayers for my Dad coming.
He is feeling some effects and it would please us both so much
if you could send him a shout out.

I'm so happy that both Chris and Kate did so well. That was very brave of both of them and I'm happy they had the confidence to compete. Go Chris and Kate! Congratulations to both of you, but especially to Chris for the call back. You did your best and no one can give more.
Leeann's Dad----Hope these side effects are short lived and I pray the month goes by very quickly for you. Just keep thinking about the fact that you are boosting your immune system for down the road! Hang tough!
Love to all,
Mom

That is freaking amazing! I am really proud of them for even trying and congratulations to Chris for making it that far! Now when do we get to see the video?

Nic,

The video of Chris' audition is on my Facebook page. My camera then broke :::wah::: so I have no video of his actual Finals day performance.

Wow - I am impressed! I would just get up there and cry. They are both looking so grown-up. Hope all is well.
