Here is part of an update from her mom, Kim:
Gwen was teetering on the edge of a cliff. She has done it in the past and we have used ropes and bungy cords to keep her here with us, to help her find her way back to stable. This time she fell. What happened that brought her back up to the edge? We don't know. Certainly it was nothing we did medically. She was falling, falling, falling for hours. And then, just when there was no further to fall, she found a plateau. She stayed there when we thought she couldn't. She survived the night. And then she survived the next day. And now we have a future... hard and scary and filled with possible bumps in the road, but we have a future.
Gwen still has a ways to go to recover.
