About Last Night

Who remembers that movie?
Back when Rob Lowe was prettier than most girls....
----------------

So, let me jog your memory back to yesterday.

I was being held hostage in my room
while my three self-named "Munckins 1, 2 and 3)
were making me dinner.

About 6:15, the Munckins led me,
eyes shut tight,
into the dining room and seated me at the table.

When I opened my eyes,
I was delighted.
The Munckins had set the table,
lit candles
and cut flowers from the hydrangea and put them in water.

The Munckins had filled wine glasses with Sprite.

The Head Munckin, Kate, had prepared a dinner of
Linguine Carbonara!
She had used the thin linguine, made a cream sauce,
chopped and cooked bacon
and added peas and parmesan to make quite a tasty dish!

This was served with a side of grapes,
and for dessert there was Devils Food cake with whipped cream.

The Munckins did an amazing job and really, the food was quite good!

Papa Munckin saved the little Munckins any wrath by doing some cleaning.
From what he said, there was QUITE a disaster in the kitchen!
-----------------------
To end an already wonderful dinner,
each Munckin had written me a letter or drawn a picture.
The letters are as follows:

From Chris:

Gas prices are splurging
and shopping's getting hard.
We had to make a budget
to pay for the car.
There is one thing in life that never goes up...
It's Love!

Love is always free
(until supplies last)

Isn't that cute and funny?
He wrote this at the end:

Dear mom,
Thank you for all the things you've done this summer
and I really love you.
Sincerely,
Chris

Awww~

And from my funny daughter, Kate (13):

In each person there is something new
something to be treasured and nurtured
In your case it is...
the beautiful kids!
But don't feel bad,
You were your mom's something new.
And this is what we like about you...
........
You also have other good traits, I guess:
1)You're funny
2)Your kind
3)You care
4)You actually know who we are talking about (but then again no one knows all the names)
5)Your great with kids
6)You are always ready to comfort
7)Your you
8)You let us use dangerous tools (my personal favorite)

I love you.
Kate
------------

The last part refers to the fact
that for the last two days,
the kids have been building bows (as in bows and arrows)
and have been using the hammer, nails and other tools
for this endeavor.

I call it creative, non-electronic play that doesn't involve me. lol
-----------------

Trey drew me a lovely picture of he and I and Gracie the dog holding hands.
Trey has a bird on his shoulder (??)
and there is a rainbow, a brightly shining sun
and what looks like an attack pterodactyl. ::::grin::::

My cranky ass does not deserve kids like these!

What a sweet, wonderful, kind, caring thing for your kids to do! They've obviously been raised in a love-filled environment!

Kids you can be proud of, definitely!!
