Did you know that you can subscribe to your favorite blogs?
Let's look at Blogger blogs, for example.
If you scroll down to the bottom of my blog,
(because SURELY this is the first blog you would want to subscribe to, right?
you will see something that says Subscribe to: Posts (Atom).
I have no idea what that means, but I do know that you supposed to click on it.
After you click on it,
you will be taken to a new page.
This page will offer you a dropdown menu
of what service you want to use to subscribe to the blog.
I use Google Reader for the blogs I subscribe to.
So choose Google and then click Subscribe Now.
It will then have you choose between a Google Homepage or a Google Reader.
I use the Google Reader, but you can do whatever you like.
And that's it!
Subscribing to blogs gives you one handy place to catch up on all your favorite blogs.
There is a nifty column to the left that shows the blogs you subscribe to
and when that blog is updated, it will appear in bold.
This is especially handy for blogs that are updated rarely or irregularly,
because then you don't have to keep checking them
AND you know there is a new entry right away instead of a week later.
Google Reader also has an area where you can see "Recommended Feeds."
This means that, sort of like a TIVO, the Reader gets the gist of the blogs you read
and then will recommend other blogs to you to try.
You might find some cool new friends out there in the Blogosphere that way!
